Dancing brings more awareness and life-force (chi) into the whole body, and facilitates joy, clarity and creativity. Because memories and emotions are held in the body, as the energy moves through us, dance can also be cathartic and profoundly healing.
But to move with intention and presence–and in holy company–can also take us into altered states where our Oneness with All That Is becomes our lived experience. As we learn to surrender to the Dance, we keep discovering that our very own body/mind/spirit is a safe and sacred space.
Please come to deepen your connection to Self, Spirit and Community and, as Gabrielle Roth recommended, to joyfully “sweat your prayers!”
This is free-form movement that will start and end with short meditation and blessing. The Opening and Closing Circles are important, so please be on time.
Guidelines for the Dance:
No photography or talking on the dance floor.
You may dance with your self or with another (with permission) or alternate.
Dance barefoot or in soft sole shoes (dance sneakers).
Stay hydrated and BREATHE!
